Currently we provide 1.7 ton diggers, which are also referred to as excavators. These compact machines are tailored for medium scale excavation and earthmoving projects. They find use in landscaping, building construction and utility maintenance work.

  • Trenching for utilities and drainage
  • Excavating for small foundations or footings
  • Landscaping tasks such as digging ponds and removing stumps
  • Demolition of small structures
  • Loading and unloading materials

In New Zealand, you typically do not need a specific licence to operate a 1.7-tonne digger. However, operators must be trained and competent to use the equipment safely. WorkSafe New Zealand recommends that operators have adequate training and knowledge of the equipment.

A 1.7-tonne digger can be transported on a trailer or flatbed truck. Ensure the transport vehicle is rated for the weight of the digger and that the digger is securely fastened using chains or straps.

We provide trailers for our diggers.
